This project delves into the significance of physical objects in preserving and appreciating a family’s heritage. By examining this specific family’s heirloom collection of love letters, we explore how these tangible artifacts can serve as windows
into the past, offering valuable insights into family history, cultural traditions, and personal narratives. Through a combination of interviews, autobiography, and visual illustration, we create a narrative that highlights the emotional and sentimental value of everyday objects or correspondence in shaping our identity and preserving family legacies. The publication’s design, featuring illustrations and scanned objects, aims to evoke a sense of nostalgia and encourage readers to reflect on their own personal connections to material possessions. The goal of the project is to stir readers to ponder a deeper thought, or a question in their minds: What are we leaving behind for our future, and descendants?
